Images differ from words in their sensual complexity. Words, on the other hand, especially in a rational, enlightened society, have a tendency to capture the consciousness. Images are often at risk of being appropriated by rational linguistic concepts. In longer periods of time, however, the quality of images can be defined precisely by their resistance to linguistic appropriation. In the large-format paintings, the words fill the picture to such an extent that they obstruct a clear understanding. The Words become elements on the surface of the canvas that interrupt and influence the visual process of perception on a rational lingustic level, creating a tension between what is seen and what is thought. This precarious relationship leaves a gap, forcing the eye and the mind to figure out their relationship with each other.
